The Galician language, a fundamental symbol of our identity as a people, has not only been a vehicle for communication and literary creation throughout history, but also influenced the formation of its own typography during the medieval period, when Galicia was consolidated as a kingdom. This project seeks to recover and value these historical typefaces, adapting them to modern standards and making them accessible to the public.

The initiative had the collaboration of recognized experts in linguistics and history, who carried out a rigorous work of collecting, analyzing and cataloging medieval Galician manuscripts. Through a meticulous design process, the original typefaces were reconstructed, respecting their historical essence and adapting them to current needs. The result is a typeface that not only claims our past, but aspires to be a tool for use in the present and in the future, both in signage and advertising and in the digital and cultural sphere.

The project also includes an online platform where the typography can be downloaded for free, along with a detailed report of the research process. The dissemination had the involvement of prominent figures of Galician culture and cultural associations that promoted its use and value, strengthening the connection with our history and our heritage.

This initiative goes beyond graphic design: it is an act of memory and collective pride. The recovery of Galician typography not only highlights the richness of our past, but also paves the way to integrate it into the present, strengthening our cultural identity and projecting us as a nation into the future.
