The project was developed in two fundamental lines: the edition and distribution of three informative books on key figures in Galician medieval history, and the creation of three podcasts based on the same content, thus seeking to reach a diverse audience through different formats.
The first line consisted of the publication of three volumes that were distributed free of charge with the daily knots during three consecutive Saturdays of December 2023, with a run of 3,000 copies each.
These books, 80 pages each and with a common collection design by the prestigious graphist Pepe Barro, seek to bring, with rigor and formal attractiveness, the lives of central characters for the Kingdom of Galicia that do not have the public recognition they deserve.
The second line was the production and dissemination of three podcasts, one for each book, made from the scripts themselves and with a professional accomplishment, which were published on the main digital platforms (IVOOX and Spotify), as well as on the web nasdiario.gal. These audios seek to facilitate access to younger or less accustomed to reading, also serving as a gateway to the most complete content of books.
The dissemination of the project included an intense communication plan with 8 advertising pages in the daily knot (November and December 2023), interviews with the authors and active presence on social networks (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), as well as the visibility in the digital version of the newspaper.
The balance of the project was highly positive, fulfilling 100% of the objectives set. Of note is the introduction of the gender perspective, especially in the volume dedicated to the Touquinegras nuns, and the increasing interest of the public, reflected in the choice of the collection as a finalist in the Follas Novas awards of the Galician book 2024 in the category of bibliographic initiative.
