Discordia & Reconciliatione: unha escolma da Historia Compostellana

Its main objective was to translate into Galician the most significant episodes of the Historia Compostellana, a medieval chronicle written in Latin at the beginning of the 12th century in Santiago de Compostela.

This work, also known as Registrum Didaci Gelmirici, constitutes one of the richest historical documents in Europe of its time and an essential source for understanding medieval Galicia, the expansion of the Compostela capital and the international relations of the Christian kingdoms of the Iberian Peninsula.

The project focused not only on the linguistic flow, but also on the careful selection of the most relevant and curious fragments of the text, in order to articulate an accessible, visual and narrative introductory guide for today's non-specialist audiences. It was thus intended to build a real "cabinet of medieval curiosities", which would allow one to approach the political, ecclesiastical and cultural context of Diego Xelmírez's time in a pleasant, rigorous and attractive way.

The initiative was not limited to the printed format: the choice also gave rise to a multimedia presentation-show, which combined voice, music and images, to the recording of an audiobook and the creation of an associated website, offering a transmedia experience that expanded the dissemination and impact of the project.

A través destas accións, DISCORDIA & RECONCILIATIONE contribúe á revalorización dun texto fundamental do medievo galego e á súa incorporación ao imaxinario colectivo contemporáneo.
