3D animation project that brings the history of Galicia to children in an enjoyable and fun way.

Inspired by the promotional spirit of Once upon a time... the man, but with a more dynamic and immersive approach, follows the adventures of Uxía and Brais, two brothers who, together with their grandfather, travel through time thanks to a magical book.

The immediate goal of the project was the creation of a 5-6 minute teaser focused on the Great Irmandiña Revolt of 1467, in which the protagonists witnessed the assault on the castle of Vimianzo.

The idea was that the short film has its own entity and can be shown in schools, book fairs or cultural events, as well as serving as a letter of introduction for institutions, municipalities and private companies.

The project opted for gender integration, giving Uxía an adventurous role compared to a more prudent Brais, and for emphasizing the intergenerational transmission of knowledge through the figure of the grandfather.

In addition, careful production was sought: modeling and texturing of characters and settings based on historical references, fluid animation, cinematic lighting and meticulous sound work that included professional dubbing, effects and surround music.

The short has subtitles to ensure accessibility and with the collaboration of anthropologist and historian Rafael Quintía Pereira, ensuring historical accuracy. With this project, GRANDPA POTATOES HAS A TIME MACHINE we try to awaken the curiosity of the little ones about Galician history, offering them an entertaining, immersive experience and, above all, in Galician.
