The project seeks to highlight the importance of the Royal Pantheon of the Cathedral of Santiago, an undervalued space until now, but key to understanding the strategic alliance between the Church of Compostela and the monarchy of the Burgundian dynasty during the 12th and 13th centuries.

This union of powers contributed to the configuration of the cathedral as the national temple of the Kingdom of Galicia, becoming not only a religious symbol, but also a political and identity symbol.

Through different actions, the project aims to spread the historical relevance of figures such as Fernando II and Afonso VIII, protagonists in urban expansion, the development of written Galician and the institutional consolidation of the Kingdom.

These monarchs, promoters of charters and benefactors of the See, were also buried in the Chapel of the Kings, in a space that had gone unnoticed by a large part of the visiting public.

The project includes the publication of a catalog with studies by Ramón Yzquierdo Peiró and Anselmo López Carreira, the publication of an informative brochure, the creation of a specific section on the museum's website with multimedia content and 3D models, and a series of short videos for social networks and platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo.

With this project, with a strong didactic and inclusive charge, the role of heritage as a learning and identity tool is reinforced, at the same time it claims a fundamental and, until now, little visible chapter of Galician medieval history.
