The aim of the project is to disseminate the history of the Kingdom of Galicia, taking advantage of the potential of social networks and the Internet to bring knowledge to society. Throughout the project, it was committed to disseminating high quality content, which mixed historical rigor and the communicative capacity of digital platforms, thus reaching a diverse audience.
The proposal included several initiatives, such as online conversations in Twitch, contained audiovisual en YouTube and Tiktok, infographics in social networks and articles in different platforms, including progullogalego.gal.
Throughout the process, the project has been supported by the largest Galician community of the Internet, Galician pride, which has more than 350,000 followers and has reached millions of people through the dissemination of the Contents.
The project has touched on topics of great relevance to the history of the Kingdom of Galicia, such as As Irmandiñas Revoltas, the relationship with the Vikings or the importance of medieval cantigas.
During the development, live conversations were made with historians and experts, educational articles and infographics were published, and short videos for social media were produced. The activity was focused on the months of June, September and October, with a schedule adapted to the availability of participants.
The impact was remarkable, managing to attract different segments of the population, from young people to more adult public, thanks to the multiplication capacity of social networks. The gender perspective was also a central axis of the project, highlighting the role of the Galician queens and the importance of women in the history of the Kingdom of Galicia.
This project turned out to be a successful example of how to use social networks for cultural and historical dissemination, creating an accessible, dynamic and enriching learning space for all.
