The project was born with the intention of filling a gap in historical dissemination, offering a space where the works of researchers on this subject from the 17th century to the present can be consulted in an accessible and interactive way.
With the support of ICT, access to the sources has been facilitated and a contextualized view of the different interpretations over the centuries has been provided, from Atanasio de Lobera to historians such as Ramón Villares or Justo Beramendi.
The initiative collects and studies the existing scientific bibliography, presenting it in an informative web portal. The page will be organized into taxonomies and includes video interviews with authors, a Didactic Unit for educational centers and dissemination on social networks.
The aim is to bring to the public little-known materials through a simple and modern language. The scientific work was carried out by a team of specialists in medieval history from the University of Santiago de Compostela, complemented by the publication of a book.
The study starts from a corpus of 90 texts and 7 comics, analyzing how the history of the Kingdom of Galicia was constructed and reinterpreted over the centuries.
The project includes the cataloging and contextualization of the texts, the study of their authors, the investigation of the historical elements that make up the Kingdom's identity and the role of women in its evolution.
The web will be the main access to information and, in parallel, a book with the results of the research has been published to ensure its dissemination also in physical format.
Another fundamental component was the Teaching Unit to transfer the knowledge generated to educational centers. This material is available for free download on the web.
