The Galician brand Acontravento has developed a fashion collection inspired by the Kingdom of Galicia as an innovative tool for historical dissemination.

Given the absence of references to the Galician Kingdom in the field of fashion and with the aim of bringing this forgotten part of history to new audiences, they created the Kingdom of Galicia collection, composed of four designs linked to the Swabian Kingdom and the Irmandiñas Revolts.

The designs combined contemporary aesthetics and historical references, with messages such as "A land, a people, a speech" or "We will tear down their castles again", and were printed on jerseys, sweatshirts and jackets. The production opted for sustainable criteria, using organic and recycled materials, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.

The project was developed in two phases. First, the garments linked to the Swabian Kingdom were produced, with a photo session at the Forte de San Lourenzo (Tomiño).

Later, the garments related to the Irmandiñas Revolts were designed and launched, with another session at the Castle of Santa Cruz da Guarda. Both campaigns had audiovisual materials for social networks and dissemination in collaboration with the Galician Pride community.

The collection was available in the acontravento.gal store and included information cards about the historical facts represented in each design, betting on fashion as an effective channel to make visible the history of Galicia from a current and committed perspective.
