The aim of the project was to disseminate and highlight the history of the monarchs of the Kingdom of Galicia, which existed between 409 and the end of the 15th century.
During this long period, Galicia was ruled by more than 40 monarchs, whose figures and actions of government, despite being fundamental in shaping our history, were little known. The proposal sought to investigate and disseminate these figures through various actions that combined historical rigor and accessibility for a wide audience.
The project included the publication of a total of 34 fascicles in Nós Diario, which were distributed from Tuesday to Friday between September and October 2022. These fascicles, with an approximate length of 12,000 characters and accompanied by historical images, detailed the biography and influence of each Galician monarch. In addition, the project contemplated the creation of 34 5-minute podcasts, which were broadcast on Nós Diario's digital platforms and on social networks, especially aimed at the youth audience.
A fundamental part of the project was the creation of a digital data bank that collected complementary information about the Galician monarchs, including images, historical documents and maps. This bank also provided a forum for the public to interact with the authors of the fascicles and resolve questions.
Finally, the project included the development of 8 cultural and tourist routes that allowed citizens to visit spaces linked to the Galician monarchs, approaching the material heritage of the Kingdom of Galicia. These routes were disseminated through pamphlets and organized excursions to promote cultural tourism.
The project sought to promote knowledge of our history and culture, especially among young people, and contribute to the conservation and socialization of our historical and cultural heritage.
