A historic route to discover one of the seven capitals of the Kingdom of Galicia was born with the aim of bringing the citizenry, in an accessible, entertaining and rigorous way, the little -known history of Betanzos during the Middle Ages.
Betting on an informative and innovative approach, he combined the audiovisual format with physical and digital support materials to build a historical route with educational and tourist value.
The initiative produced eight short, two -minute videos, recorded on set and enriched in post -production with images, plans, infographics and historical documents. These pieces, presented in Galician and with subtitles available in Galician and Spanish, were led by historians and specialists of a new generation that used a close and current language to connect especially to the younger audience.
Each video addressed a specific theme of the medieval history of Betanzos, from the transfer of the village of Tiobre to Untia, the role of the Andrade House or the Gothic tradition of the city, to facts such as the Irmandiñas Revolt, the city's declaration by Henry IV or their status as capital of the Kingdom of Galicia under the Catholic Monarchs.
The experience was complemented by a physical triptych that included a map with the route route, historical references and QR codes that connect with videos, facilitating both physical and virtual access to information. All the content has also been collected on a web page typical of the project, which acts as a digital container and guarantees its long -term availability.
This proposal has shown that it is possible to disseminate quality historical content through current formats, stimulating the interest in heritage memory and making the history of Betanzos an attractive and alive story for the local population, visitors and pilgrims of the English Way.
