GCiencia developed in 2022 a multimedia project of dissemination on the history of the Old Kingdom of Galicia. The main objective was to offer a Galician vision of medieval history, away from the centralist stereotypes, and to bring this story to a general public.
The project was structured around a microsite within GCiencia that worked as a large repository of digital content. Had a podcast titled Dancing with kings and queens, with 15 half -hour chapters and specially oriented to young people between 20 and 35 years. To make it more attractive, he adopted a casual tone and included current Galician music.
There were also four informative audiovisuals of approximately five minutes, which complemented the podcast episodes. These videos were published in GCiencia and spread through their social networks. In addition, twenty written reports were published with an informative and accessible style.
All this offer was available in a microsite with special design within GCiencia, with the aim of facilitating navigation and highlighting these contents. The program was developed between June and October 2022, with a new publication every week.
The topics addressed in the podcast and audiovisuals focused on social aspects, highlighting the role of women in history and making little known episodes visible. Accessibility was a key element, with subtitles in videos and support for people with reduced vision.
This project has opted for the dissemination of the history of Galicia from an innovative perspective, combining formats and styles to bring a more attractive and rigorous story to the public.
