Soldiers is an integrative project that fuses tradition and modernity, vindicating the figure of women both in its conception and in its artistic execution. Through music, visual aesthetics and technological innovation, this project brings the Galician-Portuguese medieval lyric to the present with a unique and avant-garde proposal.
The core of the project lies in the musical reinterpretation of seven medieval songs, carefully selected under the advice of the teacher and musician César Morán. These pieces, some of which have never been set to music before, are presented in a contemporary production in which Carolina Rubirosa takes over the composition, instrumentation and musical production. His work incorporates electronic elements, loops, pads and synthesizers, creating a unique sound atmosphere that connects the past with the present. Visual design also plays a key role.
The CD cover, designed by designer Iria Iglesias, balances medieval elements with modern tones and symbolism, evoking a powerful and enigmatic image. Inside, a 16-page booklet expands this visual narrative, reinforcing the concept of the project.
The music video for the single God! what a story I saw tonight follows the same conceptual line. Realized by artificial intelligence with Stable Diffusion, it presents an abstract animation of medieval inspiration, where faces and scenes evoke the essence of the songs of amigo. The montage, with a lower number of frames per second, seeks to recreate the aesthetics of primitive optical toys, achieving a unique and evocative visual piece.
Soldiers not only rescues a forgotten musical and literary heritage, but reinterprets it with a current language, offering an innovative and vindictive artistic experience that honors the legacy of women in the history of Galician music and culture.
