Charo Lopes

Degree in journalism from the University of Santiago de Compostela (2010), higher degree in Artistic Photography from ESAD Antonio Faílde (2012) and Master in Literature, Culture and Diversity from the University of A Coruña (2018).

She is currently a member of the editorial board and responsible for image coordination in the newspaper Novas da Galiza, directs the Portal Galego da Língua and is co-editor of the magazine caleidoscopica.gal. As a photographer she specializes in portraiture; in the umaqualquer.com project he works on representation in a feminist key, suggesting to the models a performative game and appropriating the image as a tool of self-knowledge.

As a poet he won the 1st prize Youth Create 2014 for Random do daily, the Fiz Vergara Vilariño, with whom he published How does the end of the world happen (Espiral Maior, 2016), and the XXXV poetry prize City of Ourense, with Album (Aira Editorial, 2020). Participated in the online poetry anthology Friendly Mafia, from Leite Edicións (2021), and his book How does the end of the world happen it was translated into Basque by Txerra Rodríguez and published in booktegi.eus. His poems are part of the contemporary Galician poetry anthology translated into Finnish by Rita Dahl Wild life an anthology of young Galician poetry.
Participated in the catalog expanded territory at the photography festival Outono Fotográfico ​(Difusora, 2016), at the Poetry Festival in the County (2017 and 2022) and in the collective work Let's weave networks, create community. Studies on the work of María Reimondez (General, 2020). He published "What does it mean to be indigenous?" No. 4 of Ardora Magazine (2019), and “Sereias Galegas” no. 7 of Revirada Feminista Magazine (2020).
As a photographer, your series from the badlands ​was selected in the Juventude Crea 2015 for Plastic Arts and Photography, being exhibited in the Church of the University of Santiago de Compostela (2015). Participated in group exhibitions Stop by and see, in the Photographic Autumn in Ourense (2011), Women, art and creativity no Municipal Museum of Ourense (2012) and Is the mirror ours? at Galeria Cubo de Vigo (2019).
